I was diagnosed with a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (PNET) with metastases to the liver in September 2023. Living in Central North Carolina, I\u2019m fortunate to have access to excellent healthcare. Following my diagnosis, I took immediate action to find a doctor who could perform surgery while prioritizing my quality of life. In January 2024, I underwent surgery to remove the pancreatic tumor and two liver tumors.<\/span><\/h6>\n
My journey led me to discover NCAN through research and a close friend who also has NET cancer. The connections I made through support groups have been invaluable, and I\u2019ve found a passion for helping others navigate this rare illness. I\u2019m committed to supporting fellow patients and sharing the strength and knowledge I\u2019ve gained through my own experience.<\/span><\/h6>\n

Lung Neuroendocrine patient diagnosed in 2019, just one month after getting married, and week after turning 25. Had surgery to remove NET which included entire left lung in Jan 2020, and am currently under surveillance. I live in Southern VA with my husband PJ and our fur baby Juno. I was an Assistant Bank Manager, but I am currently staying home due to CoVid-19, and using the time to go back to school! I enjoy traveling, crafts, Netflix, and reading! To help myself cope with my diagnosis I started a blog, Alex\u2019s Zebra Chronicles<\/a><\/strong><\/em> on Facebook. There I log my journey and help spread NET awareness.
