ncan support groups – iowa chapter

Meet Tasia
My name is Tasia Johnson. I was diagnosed with carcinoid of my appendix in May of 2010, after having an appendectomy. In August of 2010 I had a right hemicolectomy to remove any impacted lymph nodes. Three lymph nodes came back positive for carcinoid cells of the twenty-one removed.
Since 2010, I regularly see the medical team headed by Dr. Thomas O’Dorisio, to confirm if there is any new disease by having CT scans and blood tests. At this time, I am 8 years NED (no evidence of disease).
My desire is to provide support to patients and or family members of patients through education and sharing latest treatment information.

ABOUT OUR GROUP
NCAN Chapter Support Group meetings are built on the concept of patients helping patients.
Our meetings are all about getting to know people who understand exactly what you’re going through, and about getting you the most up-to-date information on NET testing, treatment options, and lifestyle tips.
We are a multigenerational group of patients and caregivers who support each other and research in ending this disease.
We hope you decide to JOIN us at an upcoming meeting…we look so forward to meeting you!
